Should we frame it?

Sam recently completed round 6 of 6 on his chemo journey!  It is hard to believe that we have been walking this journey since November and time sure does fly.  From a next steps / logistics standpoint, Sam has a PET scan scheduled for this coming Monday (March 9th).  The goal is to verify that the poison he pumped killed all the cancer cells.  Would you join us in prayer asking that the scan shows there are no more of those pesky little buggers in his body?

There is a follow up appointment with his Oncologist the following Monday (March 16th) to discuss the results of the PET scan and what follow up looks like in both the short and longer term.  Our understanding is that if the scan shows what we are hoping for, then he would be put on a three month follow up schedule with the Oncologist for the next two years.  Every other follow up visit would include a CT scan to help verify nothing interesting is growing.

It is with mixed emotions that we reach this part of the journey.  On one hand we are so grateful to have reached this point in Sam’s treatment plan.  On another, it is hard to not be a little anxious about what the upcoming PET scan may (or may not) reveal.  Our deepest prayer is that God provides complete healing and that this portion of his life can be seen as a bump along the road.  A bump that taught him, Grace and the entire family many good lessons that we all look to use for His plan.

Thank you to all, we have been so blessed by how closely people are walking alongside our family.  The deep appreciation for the  love, support and prayers are hard to describe. We will post another update after Sam’s visit with the Oncologist on March 16th.
